Coachella is one of the biggest music festivals in the world that takes place over the length of two weekends (April 14-16 and April 21-23). It’s a playground for women to express themselves creatively through their makeup, hair, and outfit choices.

Channeling stunning festival makeup vibes (think Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez, and Alessandra Ambrosio) is imperative if you’re a celeb going to be caught by the paparazzi or if you only want to make all of your followers on Instagram jealous.

As a top celebrity makeup artist in LA, I will guide you with the right looks and best makeup ideas to rock for the entire festival.

Let’s get into it!

Glitter Strobing

Glitter strobing is fun, gorgeous, and can make any makeup look pop.

It’s a lot like highlighting. You are accentuating all the highest points of your face (aka wherever light catches). You can glitter strobe your cheekbones, right above your brow bone, the bridge of your nose, or chin. I recommend choosing Lit Cosmetics glitter for your cheek bones and pair it with a high intensity lipstick, like my Ultra Alluring Lipstick in Chipie for the best photo op look.

Also, if you’re really into glitter, try bringing some down to your shoulders and collarbone to really complete the style.

Colorful Smokey Eye with Under Eye Glitter

This is a look that screams festival makeup. The best part? It’s easy to achieve and doesn’t have to be perfect!

Here’s how to get this look:

Pick your ideal eyeshadow palette and create gorgeous smokey eyes.

Bosso Pro Tip: Make sure to use a mattifying eye primer to keep your makeup in place.

Then dust a complimentary color underneath.

Apply chunky glitter in any shape (stars, hearts, moons) with eyelash glue or face glue to create a look that shows your eyes oozing glitter.

Vibrant ‘90’s Vibes

It’s all about the ‘90’s, baby. Trend experts have noticed that we’re gearing up for most festival-goers to look like they stepped out of a time machine.

Here’s how to get this look:

You’ll need to get your glittery hands on some vibrant hues of eyeshadow and eye primer to ensure the look stays all through the blistering sun.

Pair it with vibrant yellow hues like Maui and a bright purple like City Girl and you’ve got a look to die for.

Rhinestones or Body Jewels

If you thought face rhinestones were ever going to go out of style, you were dead wrong. They are here to stay for any and all festivals because they channel boho vibes and look gorgeous with vibrant makeup.

Here’s how to get this look:

This look is easy! All you need are the rhinestones or body jewels of your choice and skin safe glue. You’ll want to attach the jewels to a clean base.

Bosso Pro Tip: Apply the jewels somewhere that doesn’t have a lot of hair so that removal doesn’t hurt!

Apply the glue to your jewel, but not too much. You do not want glue bursting from the sides of the jewel when you place it on your face. Then, grab some tweezers and use them to pick up the jewel and place it on your face where you want it to go.

As soon as the glue dries, you’re ready to go!

White Liner

White eyeliner is always so playful! The best way to get this look is with waterproof gel liner that stays on all day.

I recommend making your eyes pop by pairing this look with a shimmery gold eyeliner, bold lashes, a subtle lip and colorful rhinestones (from above).

Two-Tone Lips

Two-tone lips are becoming increasingly popular, so why not be one of the first to rock this look at Coachella?

I wrote an entire blog on how to nail this gorgeous look. Basically, you’ll pick two complimentary colors and apply one to the top and one to the bottom lip. Check out the blog for a more detailed tutorial.

Well, there you have it!

Are you feeling bold and experimental enough for the playground that is Coachella?
